Many medical machines contain digital hard drives. These hard drives often retain employee and client data from time of installation to the present. This data can be mined by criminal technicians. Like computers, deleting or erasing files on your equipment may not necessarily make the equipment data secure. A trained technician can often recover “deleted” files.
Please keep in mind that many used medical machines are shipped overseas to developing nations where there is little or no regulation of data security. If your company or organization handles sensitive documents, we suggest replacement of your hard drive as the single best step you can take in securing your data.
If your organization must abide by Department of Defense data security standards, we can perform such services as well.
HERE IS A LIST OF OUR SERVICES:
1. Standard Hard Drive Replacement: Schock Logistics will send a technician to your site. Your hard drive will be removed and given to you for safekeeping or destruction. A new, blank hard drive pre-formatted with manufacturer-licensed software will be installed in your equipment making it fully functional. (30 minutes onsite)
2. Premium Hard Drive Replacement: Schock Logistics will send a technician to your site. Your hard drive will be removed and placed in a secure lockbox. A new, blank hard drive pre-formatted with manufacturer-licensed software will be installed in your equipment making it fully functional. (30 minutes onsite)
You then overnight the lockbox to our secure, bonded, and insured facility. Here the hard drive is received and unlocked, scanned by serial number, and shredded by authorized personnel. Each step in the process is time-stamped and video recorded. The entire process is guaranteed to take less than 36 hours from time of hard drive arrival. Once done, you are mailed a Certification of Destruction with the serial number of your hard drive per National Association of Information Destruction (NAID) standards.
ITEMS 1 and 2 above include a FREE DE-INSTALLATION service and inspection report.
